How The Kilgoris Project Is Making a Difference
The Kilgoris Project operates in rural Kenya, where it educates and cares for children, starting as young as three years old. Partnering with local communities and organizations, its programs address two local educational issues – a need for more accessible, quality education and starting that education at a young age.
Work of The Kilgoris Project
- Operates 6 preschools, 6 primary schools, and 4 junior secondary schools.
- Manages a unique sports and enrichment program that covers a wide array of activities and interests.
- Supplies students with Kindles stocked with dozens of books, giving students a chance to build reading skills and gain a love of reading.
- Supports a Primary Leadership Program on two school campuses. Elected students serve as role models and assist teachers.
- Complements academic support with health and well-being care, providing immunizations, clean water, and 2 meals/day while at school.
