How Opportunities For Change Is Making a Difference
Opportunities for Change was founded in 2024 to offer employment, housing, counseling and coaching services to its clients as they transition from incarceration and/or homelessness. OFC helps these individuals master practical life skills that prepare them to achieve stability and become productive members of their communities.
OFC residences create a supportive, collaborative community in which clients regain confidence and build skills that enable them to rejoin mainstream society.
Work of Opportunities for Change
- Runs transitional/reentry housing programs that provide a safe and warm space for individuals rebuilding their lives.
- Provides employment placement assistance to help participants find jobs.
- Offers counseling and coaching services to build inner strength and coping mechanisms to facilitate the transition to the broader community.
- Creates an environment with needed structure, accountability, and peer support to help clients develop life skills and coping mechanisms needed for long-term success.
Initiatives Supported by Project Redwood
2026: $40,000 to support development of an in-house job readiness curriculum to improve job placement results for low-income men who were formerly incarcerated, homeless, and/or fighting addiction.
