How Brighter Children Is Making a Difference

Brighter Children funds student scholarships and innovative education programs in the world’s most impoverished communities. These actions serve vulnerable students in regions where consistent, high-quality education is limited or nonexistent and often a privilege rather than a right. Brighter Children partners with educators who are deeply connected in their communities yet often lack large-scale funding. Brighter Children enables these partners to build capacity and strengthen education models while prioritizing equity, sustainability, and long-term impact, thus creating pathways for children to thrive in school and build a better future by breaking cycles of poverty.

Work of Brighter Children

  • Supports programs such as Discover Yourself in India that address barriers to learning, including gender bias, and promote skills development and economic empowerment.
  • Provides guidance in fundraising and board development.
  • Invests in strong local leaders to ensure programs are relevant to the local community and sustainable.
  • Promotes annual surveys by partner organizations to measure impact in attendance, exam scores, graduation rates and teacher retention.

Initiatives Supported by Project Redwood

2026: $30,000 to fund the first full year of curriculum design and implementation for the Discover Yourself program in India.  This also funds training and employment of local women as facilitators and establishes the program as a scalable, community-based model that can expand to villages across the region.
