Project Redwood 2024 Annual Weekend Schedule

 Friday October 4

Morning Optional Event:
Join us to follow the Freedom Trail in New York!
NYC Slavery and the Underground Railroad Walking Tour, 10 a.m to 12:30 pm.

Learn the exciting history of how a band of brave men and women formed the networks that became the Underground Railroad. Explore an archeological site and memorial dedicated to the memory of enslaved Africans in colonial America. View a former station of the Underground Railroad. Learn about the riots, revolts, and dramatic escapes that occurred during the era of American slavery. Listen to tales of courage and triumph and discover the stories of real New Yorkers who risked their lives and properties to help people escape slavery on this historical New York City tour. There will be a casual no-host lunch after the tour.

About Carter McClelland

Carter McClelland is the Chairman and Founder of Union Square Advisors, a San Francisco and New York-based investment bank focused on the technology sector. Prior to founding Union Square in 2007, he was chairman of Bank of America Securities, where he oversaw the bank’s global corporate and investment banking relationships. 

Mr. McClelland is a co-chair of Echoing Green, a New York-based nonprofit that provides seed capital to social entrepreneurs.

In 2019 Mr. McClelland received the GSB’s Excellence in Leadership Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the corporate world, the community, and to Stanford.

Jill LaLonde, Founder of OneVillage Partners. OneVillage Partners provides tools and training for people in rural communities in Sierra Leone.

Hillary Do, Founder of BOLT. BOLT supports proximate leaders through curriculum in community organizing, strategic management and navigating the local ecosystem in Philadelphia.

 

Emily Kirven, Founder of READ 718. Read 718 is a Brookly-based non-profit dedicated to building strong confident readers through one-on-one, in-person and virtual sessions.

Remington Price, Center Director at Comer. Comer prepares young people for college, careers, and futures as well-rounded, global citizens.

Courtyard is new hotel in Midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station. A four minute walk from the meeting venue, it offers reasonably priced rooms and many features.

We have secured a room block for Project Redwood attendees. Book here by September 11th for the preferred rate. If you are staying longer than Friday to Sunday, call the hotel directly and let them know you are with the Project Redwood group.

Fees for the Event

Early registration is encouraged and will support our planning. The last day to register for the in-person event is Monday, September 23rd.

Costs per person:

  • $175 in-person Attendee Registration
    This includes a social event on Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

Guests of alumni registrants are welcome to attend the meeting and social events. If your guest is attending the meeting, please register them as an attendee ($175). If your guest is only attending the Friday night or Saturday night social, you can select just the social on the registration page. The guest fee for the Friday night social is $100. The fee for the Saturday night social event is $80.
