How Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA), Now GAIA Global Health, Is Making a Difference

GAIA, now GAIA Global Health, partners with local communities to deliver locally led solutions that enable vulnerable populations in low-resource African settings to access healthcare services.

Work of GAIA, Now GAIA Global Health

  • Provides mobile clinics and community-based health services in remote rural areas, reaching those who cannot get to fixed health facilities.
  • Offers health workforce development, especially nursing scholarships and fellowships, to build capacity in underserved regions.
  • Implements programs to prevent and treat HIV and AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis and other major diseases, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
  • Addresses the broader social determinants of health (education, economic opportunity, environment) by integrating health programs with community empowerment.
  • Partners with national governments, local health systems and communities to develop sustainable health solutions in rural Africa.
