How HOPE worldwide Is Making a Difference
Hope worldwide delivers sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the materially poor and needy across the globe. They partner with neighbors in need, equip volunteers, respond to disasters and strengthen communities to inspire greater hope in our world.
Work of HOPE worldwide
- Delivers community-based health services and education in underserved international settings, such as slums in India, as part of long-term poverty alleviation.
- Provides vocational training for at-risk youth in information technology and computer skills, and in healthcare as nurse’s assistants, to enhance employability.
- Deploys micro-loans alongside business training for vocational program graduates to help them start small enterprises.
- Mobilizes volunteer networks and disaster response programs in more than 60 countries to serve communities impacted by disease, poverty, or disasters.
- Operates United States chapters and youth service programs that engage volunteers locally and globally in mutual service learning and community empowerment.
Initiatives Supported by Project Redwood
2007: $6,000 for healthcare and health education for expectant mothers and their young children in New Delhi slums.
2008: $25,000 to provide micro-loans to graduates of a vocational training program in New Delhi.
2009: $10,000 to contribute to computer centers in three government schools in Jodhpur and Pali, India.
2014: $20,000 to develop and pilot a nurse’s assistant training program for at-risk youth in La Paz, Bolivia.
