How Embrace Is Making a Difference
Embrace seeks to ensure that every baby born in a low resource setting has access, when needed, to life saving warmth from its affordable, easy-to-use, reliable infant warmer incubator.
Work of Embrace
- Developed a portable, low-cost infant warmer incubator designed to work without stable electricity in resource-constrained settings.
- Partners with hospitals, clinics, non-government organizations and governments to distribute the infant warmers globally and integrate them into newborn care systems.
- Provides training and technical support for healthcare workers in the use of the infant warmer and newborn care practices.
- Monitors impact and collects data on newborn survival, using feedback to improve product design and deployment.
- Responds in emergencies and in conflict zones to deliver infant warmers where neonatal care is severely limited.
Initiatives Supported by Project Redwood
2014: $20,000 to distribute infant warmers in Kampala, Uganda, and to provide training for caregivers and education for parents.
