How Aid for Africa Made a Difference
Aid for Africa brought together United States-based charities working in Sub-Saharan Africa to empower children, families and communities through health, education, economic and environmental development.
Work of Aid for Africa
- Served as an alliance of more than 100 member organizations coordinating efforts across education, girls’ empowerment, wildlife, and environment in Africa.
- Raised funds and managed grants to member non-profits that deliver local programs such as school construction, health initiatives, micro-enterprise development.
- Supported research and knowledge building. For example, the Aid for Africa Endowment at Tufts University supported graduate student research in food security and poverty reduction.
- Amplified impact by enabling member organizations to share best practices, data and networks across African regions and continents.
- No longer active.
