How Andean Alliance Is Making a Difference

The Andean Alliance strengthens Indigenous communities in Peru’s cloud forest by supporting farmer-led cooperatives, expanding sustainable livelihood opportunities, and building local skills through hands-on, culturally rooted development.

Work of Andean Alliance

  • Strengthens Indigenous farmer cooperatives so families can collectively sell specialty coffee, secure better prices, and fully own the value they create.
  • Provides hands-on training in regenerative agriculture, leadership, and financial management to build long-term skills and autonomy.
  • Expands sustainable income opportunities—coffee, cacao, honey, and value-added products—that keep families rooted in their ancestral lands.
  • Uses Geographic Information System mapping and field-based monitoring to track impact, ensure transparency, and connect buyers directly to the farmers behind each product.
  • Works side by side with community leaders, honoring cultural knowledge and ensuring that every project is designed and driven locally, not imposed from outside.
