How Educate! Is Making a Difference
Educate! develops young leaders and entrepreneurs across Africa by equipping them with the leadership, entrepreneurial and life skills to succeed in today’s economy.
Work of Educate!
- Provides a two-year social entrepreneurship and leadership course in Ugandan secondary schools, with mentoring and alumni support.
- Partners with governments, schools and teachers to integrate employment-focused, skills-based curricula into national education systems across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.
- Runs experiential “school solutions” and “out-of-school youth bootcamps” to support young people, especially girls, who cannot complete formal secondary school.
- Measures and monitors outcomes. Studies show Educate! participants earn significantly more, have higher business-ownership rates and experience improved gender equity outcomes.
- Scales program expansion and broadly impacts youths’ lives with a strongly African-led team and partnerships in multiple East African countries.
