How Haitian Educational Initiatives (HEI) Is Making a Difference
HEI financially supports Haitian-led organizations so that impoverished children can attend school and succeed academically through scholarships for tuition, supplies, after-school tutoring and enrichment programs.
Work of HEI
- Provides scholarships for tuition, uniforms and school supplies to children from low-income families in Haiti.
- Delivers after-school tutoring, homework help and summer enrichment courses to keep students engaged and progressing.
- Operates feeding and wellness programs so students can learn without the burden of malnutrition or ill health.
- Partners with Haitian community organizations and schools to strengthen local capacity and replicate educational models.
- Provides transitional support for older students or young adults emerging from the scholarship program, to help them prepare for employment or further education.
