How OneVillage Partners (OVP) Is Making a Difference
One Village Partners addresses multidimensional poverty by investing in individuals and communities to be at the forefront of solving their own challenges. We provide support to enable them to create and lead their own development projects, while investing in women’s financial and business skills and improve overall wellbeing and gender equity.
The goal of our community-led model is to support communities to improve the quality of life for their members, with an emphasis on women, through inclusive, accessible, and community-driven initiatives.
Work of OVP
- The Nurturing Opportunities for Women (NOW) Program empowers women with skills in financial literacy, business development, and agriculture through a picture-based curriculum. The program is inclusive of all literacy levels and actively engages male household members to shift gender norms and promote joint decision-making.
- OVP supports communities to assess and prioritize their own challenges and define a shared development vision, which is implement by trained community volunteer-leaders.
- OVP uses tools to collect data on household-level changes in attitude and decision-making, and uses that data to refine the program’s concept and effectiveness in real time.
